Stella has dreamt of becoming a milliner (hat maker) since she was little. She moves to Louisville, Kentucky, to design for the most elegant event in the calendar, the Louisville Derby. Socialite Rosalind takes a liking to Stella and her designs and hires her to create looks for the week of the Derby and the race itself.
